We’ve gathered a little basic information about Lima, Peru for the convention planner: Lima is nicknamed the City of Kings, or Ciudad de los Reyes, having been established by the Spanish Conquistadores in the mid-1500s. The venerable city has spread out from its central Old Lima area over the centuries and today, only about a third of its citizens live within its metropolis. The beautiful city is a fascinating repository of history and architecture, where Spanish Colonial merges with Incan landmarks to provide the flavor and character of a remarkable, bustling community that overlooks the sparkling Pacific Ocean.
2014 Business Conventions in Lima, Peru
Lima is hosting hundreds of conferences during 2014. Fleming Gulf will host LatAm Mine Water Conference, in August in Lima Region PE. Mining and Investment Latin America, hosted by Global Financial Conferences Ltd will be held in November at Westin Lima Hotel on Calle Las Begonias 450. Kenes International will host Latin American Congress of Multiple Sclerosis, in November at a venue yet to be announced. Mining Summit Latin America, hosted by Custom Design Marketing & Media will be held in October at a venue which wasn’t announced at the time of this research.
2013 Business Conferences in Lima, Peru
Lima is one of the cities hosting large national and international conferences and summits next year. During 2013, it will be the host city of the 5th World Congress on Women’s Mental Health by the International Association for Women’s Mental Health (IAWMH) which will take place in January at the Westin Lima Hotel and Convention Center. Also, the 15th IOC World Conference on Sport for All will be held in April at the Convention Centre of the Medical School of Peru. Aside from those mentioned, the Latin American Association of Analysis, Modification and Cognitive Behaviourial Therapy will host its 7th World Congress of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies “Bringing Cultures together for a Better Quality Life” in July next year at three venues such as the Convention Center of the College of Medicine of Peru, Maria Angola Convention Center and Estelar Hotel.

Lima Attractions for Conference Delegates
While in Lima for your convention or conference, enjoy some of the many sights and attractions the city has to offer. The Museo Larco on Avenida Bolivar is always among those recommended. It offers an excellent collection of pre-Colulmbian art and pottery, a fine restaurant and a fabulous garden area. Miraflores is also frequently cited as a must-visit in Lima. This wonderful tourist district offers some great dining, shopping, and nightlife venues. For a fabulous photo op and sense of history, see the Plaza de Armas, or Plaza Mayor. If you go at twelve noon, you’ll catch the changing of the guards, a real show!
